Army of two, the name speaks for itself doesn’t it?

EA’s TPS is one of the first games to almost completely rely on cooperative play,
and has shown us EA shows no mercy with it’s competition.

Two skull-masked men with guns… sounds badass right?

These two unknown men’s primary goal is to fight through an aging war, and through political conspiracy. This TPS game has said some missions will be impossible without a personal buddy with you, so if you’re just with AI, you better be able to cover them…stupid AI.

Well the latest news with this game is that it has a meter at the top of the screen called agro.
This meter of red shows your characters aggression level, and obviously the more aggression the better. There has also been release of coop feature between you and your buddy. Here’s the list:

1. Boost: one person stands up against wall and holds hands out while person two gets lifted up. Second person can then reach down and pull first person up.

2. Rappeling: one person holds rope while other one scales down side of building or a large wall.

3. Back to Back: Both players go back to back to cover each other’s non-armored backsides.

4. Makeshift cover: Players can tip over tables, and other objects to create cover. Players can also pick cover up and carry around with them. Car doors can be ripped off to provide a shield.

5.Death: Player that died will have to run away from “the light” while the other player goes through a button-mashing sequence to perform CPR.

6.Driving: All vehicles need one player to drive and the other to man the turret. Known vehicles are hovercraft, fork lift, jeep, buggie and a boat.

7.Ammo: If one player runs out of ammo, the other player can give him part or all of his magazine. Also players can trade guns at anytime.

8.Emotes: Both players can do a range of emotes from slapping each other to pretending to play on an imaginary guitar. Also characters will communicate a lot and talk trash to one another. For example when Salem was healing Rios, Rios said “Where did you learn first aid, butcher school?”

9.Healing: When one player is injured, the other player must run over to him and either drag him to a safe area or heal him in that spot. This is a mini game where the player who is healing must go through a button mashing sequence and shove tampons in the other players wounds. This is a real tactic used by real life PMCS.

So another incredible game for the year 2007.

In stores November 15 for PS3 and 360.

F.E.A.R. Sequel is Named!

September 6, 2007

The sequel to our favorite 2006 supernatural shooter finally has a name! And it doesn’t have any odd military acronyms in it. The developers of F.E.A.R., Monolith Productions, took their time on this one, but it has it’s reasons.

And that reason is one long and twisted story, as many of your shooter games are. But here is the gist of it: Monolith no longer owns the rights to the name of F.E.A.R.- publisher Vivendi (no longer working with Monolith) holds the rights in its money-lined vaults and doesn’t much want to part with it. Stripped of it’s loved name F.E.A.R. (which stands for First Encounter Assault and Recon), Monolith was left with no choice but to turn to the fans of the game. They did so in a contest in June.

And finally Monolith decided on the name Project Origin to carry on F.E.A.R.’s legacy.

Samantha Ryan vice pres. of production said”Project Origin is the name we can stand behind since it was picked by the gaming community, and this game marks a new beginning for the franchise.”

Several names were being tossed around such as, S.E.A.R. (Second Encounter Assault Recon), F.2.A.R., Reckoning Day:Blood Loss, and much much more. But Monolith picked the highest voted, Project Origin.

There is a nice little screen for you…creepy.

A release date isn’t know for Project Origin yet, but it will be coming out for the Xbox 360,PS3, and PC. The sequel will continue the original F.E.A.R.’s story, putting the mysterious Alma at the center of an escalating paranormal crisis that threatens to destroy a major American city.

Castlevania: News

September 6, 2007

Ok well earlier we made a post about new Casltevania coming to DS,Wii and PSP. The developers said that it is near completion for the US. They just need the final two approval stamps. And Europe hasn’t responded to them.

The game will have relations to Rondo of Blood, a Casltevania game from Japan that never made it over here. And they seem happy about it. Not much else is known save for some tid bits, like info on Xbox Live Arcade, and the Dracula X Chronicles ran into a problem during development.

But we will keep you posted.

Feast your eyes on some screenshots. (PSP and DS)

Most people have heard of the announced PC game Spore, or its counterpart announced for the DS. For those who haven’t, Spore is a simulation game where you start as a single celled organism that the you can eventually evolve and change until at one point you create an entire civilization! You then move on to other planets and galaxies…epic.

Up until this point Spore was  only going to be a DS and PC game. But some info was recently released at the Lepzig gaming convention by Maxis as to whether it will be coming to console.

Patrick Bushcher, the Maxis executive said this quote  when he was asked whether or not it would be coming to 360,PS3 or Wii, near you “Not right now. But we see it as a franchise, it just won’t be happening at the launch”.

So we can all expect a version of Spore for our respective consoles. Wii,360 and PS3. It will just happen sometime after the PC and DS release. So just sit tight for awhile and you should be able to experience it in console glory.
