John Rambo release date

September 12, 2007

Well, Lionsgate has officially set a January 25, 2008 release date for Sylvester Stallone’s John Rambo. This announcement was brought to us by the studios own press website.

The latest of the Rambo series is set in Thailand, John Rambo revolves around a group of Christian aid workers who recruit Rambo to guide them up the Salween River to deliver medical supplies to the Karen tribe of neighboring Burma (a.k.a. Myanmar). When the missionaries fail to return, Rambo is persuaded to take a group of mercenaries back into the war-torn border area to find them. What follows is a descent into what you will note as hell on earth, as the controversial trailer that recently popped up online made graphically clear.

Stallone writes, directs, produces and stars as Rambo. The picture was filmed on location in Thailand. Also starring are Julie Benz as “Sarah,” Matthew Marsden as “Schoolboy,” Graham McTavish as “Lewis,” Rey Gallegos as “Diaz,” Jake La Botz as “Reese,” Tim Kang as “En-Joo,” Paul Schulze as “Burnett,” and Ken Howard as “Arthur Marsh.”

Should be one hell of a movie!
